HEALTHCARE REFORM   |   AARP

There was a lot of myths circulating around President Obama's proposed healthcare reform, and this campaign was created to refute them. From "death panels" to "...not being able to choose your doctor", there were a lot of falsehoods circulating. We were looking for a simple, impactful way to debunk the myths and reinsert facts in to this highly polarized national debate.

And this campaign worked- extremely well. So well, in fact, that the broadcast spot was pulled in under two weeks, as it caused a firestorm along party lines. It generated global PR, both in publications worldwide and here in the states. It was discussed by legislators and on the Sunday political shows, it was debated on radio talk shows and op-eds, and it even got a comment on Sarah Palin's Facebook page.

WHAT'S NEXT   |   AARP

Research showed that people are now defining their retirement as a time to finally do whatever they have always wanted to do, rather than quietly riding off in to the sunset. They are actively chasing their dreams and even re-careering after 50. Using this insight, we created this campaign encouraging retirees to follow their dreams and to be excited about the possibilities retired life holds.

Using AARP's social media channels, we started a nationwide search for members with aspirational goals to achieve in their retirement years. We soon discovered Benny Chastain, who wanted to race in the Daytona 500. We got AARP to become his sponsor and hooked him up with the resources he needed for a chance to achieve his dream. And we documented his story online over the next year, both on AARP's social media as well as a custom made microsite and social channels for Benny.
