After decades of being the little maverick airline from Texas, Southwest had grown to be America's largest domestic carrier, and it was time that their brand evolved to reflect this. So, as part of a multi-agency effort, we completely overhauled their corporate identity and advertising. The updated, more mature brand look and tone effected every touch point while never losing sight of Southwest's origins. After all, they are the only airline with enough heart to put people first.

These were the last spots produced in the long-running, iconic campaign. The challenge was to include branding early in the spots, which is problematic considering the humor comes from the brand reveal at the end of the spot. The solution? A spot-in-a-spot where characters create their own "wanna get away?" moment because their attention was diverted by watching the original spot.
